Joana Saahirah is a world renowned Dancer, Teacher and Choreographer (specialized in Egyptian Oriental and Folkloric Dances, Actress and Author of the book “The Secrets of Egypt – Dance, Life & Beyond”, a pioneer book on its 2nd edition.aaamiracleoflovehappened.JPG


One of the most well known, respected and original Oriental Dancers in the international scene. After almost a decade of Life and Career in Egypt with her own orchestra – rescuing the ORIGINS and ESSENCE of Egyptian Oriental and Folkloric Dance -, Joana Saahirah has created a style (of teaching, choreographing and performing) that UNITES EAST and WEST; the best of Egypt and the best of western open and free mind; technique and expression; healing and art; the reconnection of MIND,the HEART, the BODY and the SOUL.

For the last 5 years, Joana has been a constant presence – as an invited artist, choreographer & teacher – at major International Oriental Dance Festivals.

She has studied with the legends of Egyptian Oriental Dance, such as Shokry Mohamed, Souhair Zaki, Nagwa Fouad, Azza Sherif and Mona el Said, and travelled all over Egypt to research the roots of its music and dance.

Joana has recovered the SOUL of Oriental Dance and Egyptian Folklore and it´s her Dream and Mission to share it with the world revealing the true richness and ancient knowledge hidden in this art form.

Joana has written for newspapers, magazines and websites (about Egyptian culture, music and dance), such as the Elephant Journal and Zaghareet Magazine, amongst others, and a BOOK about The Magic of Egyptian Oriental Dance and her Paths of Discovery in the land of the Pyramids: “The Secrets of Egypt – Dance, Life & Beyond“. She´s currently working on two new books.

She has created “Messages from The Womb”, a series of video lectures that are inspiring dancers from all over the world.

She´s the author of pioneer On Line Private Courses – regular courses and “The Secrets of Egyptian Dance” Workshops – and the NEW Joana Saahirah´s Online Dance School which offers innovative formats combining authentic Egyptian Dance – Oriental and Folkloric styles – with Self-Discovery and Personal Empowerment. She started her career in Egypt – 8 years of daily full repertoire (Egyptian Oriental & Folkloric dance) shows with her orchestra – as well as Lebanon and Oman. In the last years, she has received universal acclaim from all over the world. Thousands of dancers have been touched by her Vision of Oriental Dance.

        I´ve been travelling the world to teach, perform and lecture for the last 3 years. Although I lived and performed in Egypt for almost 8 years, my base is not there anymore.
