Is it a crime to be happy, to fulfill my potential, to thrive for more, better, more joy and self-realization?
Is it a crime to pave my own road with disregard for the roads already travelled?
Is it a crime to exist, take up space, build, dare, dream, accomplish?
Is it a crime to be aLIVE and loving it – stubbornly, persistently?
I´m often lead to think the answer to these questions is YES. You can be “too much” for the crowds. Oh, yes, you can.
I shrink a bit, apologize for bothering other people (too much light – they say – it blinds us!).
Then lucidity strikes me.
I realize it´s their crime, not mine, that bothers them. The crime of being, and living, beneath their potential and self-worth. They, like me, tend to forget we were born to grow beyond expectations. And fears. They, like (some times) me, are afraid of their own greatness.
