Ode to (passionate) Life

Ah, The Fire!

I A-D-O-R-E this photo taken during my last performance in Auckland, New Zealand.

It´s not a perfect image – none of my stage photos are “perfect”, they´re human – but it´s real, powerful, passionate, coming from the deepest part of my soul. This is, in my opinion, how Oriental Dance is supposed to be. How love, friendships, poetry and food are supposed to be. How literature, sex, desire, sadness, ups and downs, heaven and hell are supposed to be. Always.

No doll poses or cute choreographies can move an audience the way real expression of the soul can. The moment you replace appearances by contents, life becomes so much more interesting. Try it!
